What brings people to therapy

Whatever is bringing you here, you don't have to have it all figured out. If something on this page sounds familiar, that's enough to reach out.

Anxiety

Anxiety looks different depending on where you are in life — for teens it's often tied to identity and how peers see you, for adults it can carry weight from earlier years layered on top of everyday pressures. One of the most frustrating things about anxiety is that knowing you're anxious doesn't make it stop. It's cyclical, not linear, and it doesn't always respond to logic alone.

Together we'll work on identifying the thoughts that feed your anxiety and shifting them toward something more grounded — plus building coping strategies that actually fit your life.

Depression

Depression doesn't always look like not getting out of bed. For many people it's quieter — brain fog, lack of motivation, being physically present but mentally somewhere else. It shows up differently for teens and adults, and it isn't always something that fully goes away.

Progress looks different for everyone too. Sometimes it starts small — getting outside, texting a friend. We'll build the coping skills and support around you to make those small steps feel more possible.

ADHD

ADHD is one of the most mislabeled diagnoses out there — often mistaken for anxiety, or reduced to just the activity piece, when hyperfocus is equally common. For teens it can mean being labeled difficult when the right support just hasn't been found. For adults it can look like a lifetime of unfinished projects and wondering why things feel harder for you than others.

There's no one way to have ADHD, and no one way to manage it. We'll build strategies that work for how your brain actually operates.

Trauma

Trauma isn't a limited box — it's defined by how your experiences have shaped you, and only you get to decide what counts. It shows up in relationships, in how you see yourself, in your ability to feel close to others or feel worthy of love.

Progress isn't about never being triggered — it's about understanding how your history is impacting you today. We'll work at your pace to identify those patterns and build a path forward. You don't have to relive everything to heal from it.

Life transitions

Life transitions come in many forms — career changes, relationships ending, becoming a parent, losing someone, or simply feeling like the path you've been on no longer fits. There's rarely a clean answer, and the pressure to have one can make it harder.

Progress here is about learning to sit in the discomfort, discovering what's actually right for you — even when that doesn't sit well with everyone around you. You're allowed to change your mind.

Grief & loss

Grief isn't only about losing a person. It can show up around a relationship, a life chapter, or a version of yourself. It doesn't have a timeline, and it doesn't move in a straight line.

We'll work through it at your pace — making room for all of it, without rushing you toward an ending that doesn't feel real yet.

Postpartum

Becoming a parent changes everything — your identity, your relationships, your sense of self. Postpartum anxiety and depression are real, and so is the isolation and loss of self that can come with new parenthood even when things look fine from the outside.

You're not failing. We'll work through the emotional shifts and identity changes together, and help you find your footing in this new version of your life.
